Each day, members of the health care community take care of our cherished family, friends, and neighbors in hospitals and other care settings. In moments of medical need, these dedicated health care workers are there for us no matter the time of day, in communities across Virginia. The video below reminds us of all the important work done by health care workers. Given all they do, it is important for the voices of health care workers to be heard as community advocates with firsthand insight into how public policy decisions affect public health, and health care access and affordability. Please watch the video below and register to be an advocate for health care in your community through this link.

Members of the VHHA Hospital Grassroots Network receive updates and Action Alerts throughout the year, and have the opportunity to easily e-mail state delegates or senators to seek their support on important health care issues. E-mail messages are drafted for you, and taking action can take less than one minute! Action Alerts are sent to Hospital Grassroots Members on the most important legislative issues that our hospitals face. Legislators need to hear from people in their districts to understand the local impact of their votes in Richmond.

Hospital Grassroots Network members also receive important updates through VHHA’s advocacy newsletter. Recent editions of the newsletter have highlighted the health care views of Virginia’s leading gubernatorial candidates — Republican Ed Gillespie and Democrat Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam — (see here), and those of lieutenant governor candidates Justin Fairfax (D) and Virginia Senator Jill Vogel (R) (see here).
