Antibiotic Stewardship Collaboration

Antibiotic resistance is a challenge for health care providers and patients. It is estimated that at least two million Americans each year become infected with antibiotic-resistant bacteria, leading to 23,000 deaths. Four leading health care organizations in Virginia – the Virginia Department of Health, the Medical Society of Virginia, Health Quality Innovators, and VHHA – are collaborating to promote antibiotic stewardship best practices in support of public health and wellbeing.
