The Commonwealth of Virginia has designated Patient Safety Day as February 2nd. This two-day summit provides information and strategies to enhance patient safety, reduce the risk of error, and improve effectiveness of teams in the delivery of healthcare. Our 2017 summit will focus on The Human Factor: Optimizing Safety for Patients and Providers. Participants will learn about and discuss methods for health care professionals to collaborate with patients and families in all aspects of care across the continuum.

This event has gained a reputation of one of the best Patient Safety Conference in the nation, and attracts close to 600 attendees each year. Audience includes: physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, home health care professionals, long-term care professionals, hospital and health system chief executive officers and leaders, patient safety officers, directors of quality, risk managers and healthcare professional faculty engaged in undergraduate and graduate education.

This year’s Pre-Summit, Virginia Antibiotic Stewardship: A Statewide Call to Action is on Feb. 1. The event is free to attend but advance registration is required. See the flyer and agenda below, or click here for a downloadable version.
