Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are potentially traumatic events that can have negative, lasting effects on health and well-being. These experiences range from physical, emotional, or sexual abuse to parental divorce or the incarceration of a parent or guardian.

Join VHREF in collaboration with Magellan Healthcare of Virginia as we take a deep dive into what ACEs are, how they impact development and future health behaviors, why it is so important to consider them in health care, and what you can do to implement trauma informed care into your practices.

Series Speakers

Allison Jackson, PhD, LCSW, CSTOP
VP, General Manager, Magellan Healthcare of Virginia

Varun Choudhary, MD, MA, FAPA
Medical Director, Magellean Healthcare of Virginia
